Center for Reproductive Justice
|
The Center for Reproductive Justice will be a source of information for, by, and about women from communities of color. In particular, its website will be used to disseminate information pertaining to the women who "make adoption plans" for their children. The goal of the Center for Reproductive Justice is not to fight for the right to an abortion. Rather, the goal is to fight for our right to raise our own children. My dream is to publish information that will get read. Therefore, publications must be brief, current, engaging, and readable at a high school level. Publications should be available in many languages, including the languages of natural parents. People who will benefit from this information include:
Eventually, the Center for Reproductive Justice will need a physical place--I envision a multi-purpose space where people can meet, work, and socialize. The center might also be a source of funding for researchers; there is a particular need for bi-/multi-lingual and bi-/multi-cultural people in our community. The center will also fund translations. These are long-term goals--but why not start building now? In the immediate future, CRJ will exist online, and I will continue to work on designing and building this website so it is useful, interesting, and accessible. This is the space I've designated to make things happen. More to come...
